It's time...

I am posting from Labor & Delivery at Presbyterian Dallas. Allison is all hooked up and getting Pitocin.

What happened was (without getting too graphic) Allison woke up this morning at 9:30 and went to the bathroom. There was a "gush" (as Allison calls it), but she didn't think much of it until she laid back down. She got up to go again about 30 minutes later and had another "gush". That is when she thought that maybe her water broke, but she wasn't sure. Allison figured that she only lost her mucus plug. She called the doctor on call and the doctor said to look for signs to determine if her water actually broke. So we went almost all day just hanging out watching the Cowboys game and whatnot. During the day, Jackson wasn't as active as he usually is, so that made Allison a little nervous. I am going on record to say that I told her to go to the hospital this morning when she informed me about the possibility that her water broke. My logic was that the worst that could happen was that they tell us it is a false alarm and to go back home. Anyway, her curiosity got the best of her, and she called the doctor again and informed her of the lack of fetal movement. So the doctor suggested Allison go to the hospital and get hooked up to a fetal monitor to make sure there is nothing wrong. So at about 5:00, we head up to the hospital. We go back to triage and Allison gets checked by a nurse. Sure enough, her water broke, so it was at that point that we learned that we were not leaving the hospital without a baby.

We got moved into a labor/delivery room and Allison is on her way to having a baby! She is only dilated to one, so we have a ways to go. I will keep the blog updated with any significant developments.
